What you can do

Made for real connections

  • Discover nearby

See who’s around you on a simple grid sorted by distance. Filter for what matters to you and see who’s online now.

  • Chat naturally

Send messages and photos, reply to a specific message, react with an emoji and see when your message has been seen.

  • Share your moments

Post photos with a caption, get likes and comments, and choose who sees each post.

  • Private albums

Keep photos in a private album and open it to the people you choose. Changed your mind? Take access back at any time.

  • Community and connections

Follow people with their approval, keep a close-friends list and start group chats.

  • Privacy-conscious location

Your location is rounded on our servers. Other people see an approximate distance — not where you are.

  • Safety and moderation

Report profiles, posts, comments and messages, block anyone, and know that profile and post photos are reviewed before they appear.

Nearby, done carefully

Close by — without giving away where you are

Rounded on the server
Your coordinates are reduced to an area of about 550 m, and only that area is stored. Your exact coordinates aren’t kept.
Approximate distance
Other people see the distance between two rounded areas. Under 500 m, HIMO simply shows “< 500 m”.
You stay in control
Hide your distance, go incognito or turn location off — the rest of HIMO keeps working.

Sharing your exact location in a chat is always your choice, one message at a time.

Messages

Conversations that feel natural

  • Text, photos from your library or camera, and your location when you choose to share it.
  • Reply to a specific message and react with an emoji.
  • See when a message has been delivered and seen.
  • Unsend a message and it’s deleted from the server for both of you.

Posts

Share moments, on your terms

Post a photo with a caption and pick the audience before it goes out. You can change it later.

  • Everyone
  • Close friends
  • Only me

Private albums

Shared on trust

Your private album isn’t part of your profile. Only the people you open it to can see it, and you can take access back whenever you like.

Saving or passing on photos from someone else’s private album breaks our rules and can get an account closed.

Like all content on HIMO, album photos are subject to moderation, as described in our Privacy Policy. Read the Privacy Policy

Safety

A safer place to be yourself

HIMO is for adults, and for real connections. We built the tools to keep it that way.

  • Block anyone

People you block can’t see you or message you — and you won’t see them.

  • Report in a tap

Report a profile, post, comment, message or album photo from right where you see it.

  • Moderation

Profile and post photos are checked automatically before others see them, and reported content is reviewed by our team.

  • 18+ only

Your date of birth is required when you sign up, and accounts under 18 are refused.

Read the Community Guidelines

Privacy

Your privacy, explained plainly

  • We don’t sell your data, and HIMO has no advertising trackers.
  • Photos load only through signed links that expire.
  • Data travels over encrypted connections (TLS).
  • Delete your account at any time, from the app or by email.

Messages on HIMO are not end-to-end encrypted. Authorized HIMO staff can access content when it’s necessary to keep people safe, provide support or meet legal obligations — the Privacy Policy explains exactly when.
